"On the Edge of Our Seats" with Polly Young-Eisendrath, Ph.D.
How Can We Help Ourselves and Our Teenage Children with Anxiety in the Time of COVID-19?
Isn't adolescence enough of a challenge, only to be compounded by social isolation and living with yourself and your parents? Am I okay? Is my teen okay? What is normal? How can teens ask for help and how can adults be accessible and understanding. During this difficult time of physical distancing and adolescence, it is helpful to understand what it may be like to be a parent. We NEED each other in order to get through all of this and this presentation will help provide a professional insight for adults and youth ages 10 and up.
Central Vermont New Directions is sponsoring the screening of "Angst", a film-based education program designed to raise awareness around anxiety, with an emphasis on youth and families. The film includes interviews with kids, teens, experts, and parents. The goal is to help people identify and understand the symptoms of anxiety and encourage them to reach out for help.
