In this session Polly Young-Eisendrath offers a perspective to find meaning and connection in our relationships. All relationships have a soul; relationships with a partner, friends, family members and relationships at work. Tending to the soul in relationships with others asks that we show up fully and witness the true emergence of oneself and the other. It requires willingness to learn, and it asks us to embrace our unconsciousness and our interdependence. We need an attitude of tolerance and reflection while we learn to perceive our relationships through a lens that is larger than our own individual feelings and concerns. Stepping beyond our own feelings can create, sustain, or destroy a larger web of being. We have to go beyond our own pleasures and desires to become curious about the other person, and about the soul of the relationship. We need to dialogue with one another. Learning to relate is a deeply meaningful experience and brings a sense of purpose to the people involved.
In this session, you’ll discover:
How to tend to the soul in relationships;
How to foster a soulful relationship
What skills are needed to move beyond ego, pleasures and desires.
